Data Deletion & Safety
Nadwa — mosque community & Quran memorization app · Last updated: 17 August 2026
This page explains how to request deletion of your Nadwa account and personal data, and summarizes the data Nadwa collects. It complements our Privacy Policy.
Delete your account from the app
You can permanently delete your account and personal data yourself, right inside the Nadwa app — no email or waiting required:
- Open the Nadwa app and go to the More → Profile tab.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Type DELETE to confirm. Your account and personal data are removed immediately and you are signed out.
If you can’t access the app
If you’ve lost access to your device or account and can’t use the in-app button, email meshal@alphaalgorithms.io from the address on your account with the subject“Nadwa data deletion request”and we’ll process it for you.
What gets deleted
When you delete your account we remove:
- Your Nadwa account — permanently deleted and unrecoverable; it can never be signed into again
- Your profile (name, email, city, ZIP/postal code, approximate location, gender, friend code)
- Your mosque memberships and roles
- Your social activity — comments, reactions, friends, notifications, and push-notification tokens
What may be retained
- Payment & donation records:Tuition, donation, and refund ledger entries are retained as required by law, tax, and accounting rules — but they are de-identified: your name and profile are removed and only an internal reference remains so the mosque’s books stay accurate. Transaction records held by our payment processor (Stripe) may also be retained; we instruct Stripe to delete customer data where permitted.
- Legal/security records: Limited records we are legally required to keep, or that are needed to resolve disputes or prevent abuse.
- Backups: Residual copies in encrypted backups are purged on our normal backup-rotation cycle.
